Taupo Rod and Tackle Quarterly Competition

The Taupo Rod & Tackle weigh week is run so that members can build up points towards a trophy at the end of the
season (June 30th). The event is open to Taupo Fishing Club members only.
You must register for each event at a Thursday club night from 5.30pm, the day before the competition.
Online registration is also accepted by emailing proof of bank transfer to taupofc@gmail.com. Cost is $5.00 per angler.

All entrants must:
● Hold a valid Taupo Fishing Licence, and you must show your license at registration.
● You may only fish in the Taupo Fishing area and abide by these rules. Excluding Lake Otamangakau as per
the Doc competition regulations
● Each angler may weigh in 1 (one) fish per day.

Fishing commences at 5.00 am on Friday, for 7 days, and finishes on the following Thursday.
Fish caught on Friday to Wednesday to be weighed in at Taupo Rod & Tackle (between 8am – 4pm each day) Fish
caught on Thursday can be weighed at the club rooms between 5.30 – 6.00pm.
Those who wish to enter on a catch and release method are to supply a photograph of the fish on digital scales for
weight competition and also a photo with a measure of length for condition factor.
If you have weighed it in at Taupo Rod and Tackle or at the club rooms with the weighmaster, and completed a catch
card, then you don’t need to supply a photograph.
Prize giving will be on completion of weighing at the club rooms on the Thursday evening following the event.

A points system as follows, for seniors and juniors high point trophies:
● 10 points for heaviest fish
● 10 points for best condition
● 5 points for second heaviest fish and for second best condition
● 3 points for third heaviest fish and for third best condition
● 1 point for entering competition for those not scoring any points

A Taupo Rod & Tackle voucher will be given for Heaviest Fish & Closest to the Average Weight of all fish weighed in
over the 7 days. Only one voucher can be awarded to any one individual.

However, on the points system, accumulated over the competition period, someone having heaviest fish, 10 points &
best condition, 10 points, will be awarded 20 points.
